Now a certain man was in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of the band called Italian, a devout man, and fearing God with all his house, and doing many charities for the people, and beseeching God always. He saw plainly in a vision about the ninth hour of the day, an agent of God coming in to him, and saying to him, Cornelius. read more.

Now toward midnight Paul and Silas, while praying, were singing praises to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. And having taken them in that hour of the night, he washed from the stripes, and was immersed, he and all those of him, immediately. And having brought them into his house, he set out a table, and rejoiced, having believed in God with all his house.

And he said to them, I am a Hebrew, and I fear LORD, the God of heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.


And LORD said to Satan, Have thou considered my servant Job? For there is none like him on the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil.

And great fear developed in the whole church, and in all who heard these things.
