A Song of Ascents.
How blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
Who walks in His ways.
Not to us, O Lord, not to us,
But to Your name give glory
Because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your truth.
and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me always, for their own good and for the good of their children after them.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all those who do His commandments;
His praise endures forever.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
Fools despise wisdom and instruction.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.
The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him,
The spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The spirit of counsel and strength,
The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
And He will delight in the fear of the Lord,
And He will not judge by what His eyes see,
Nor make a decision by what His ears hear;
The Lord favors those who fear Him,
Those who wait for His lovingkindness.
The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him,
And He will make them know His covenant.
Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who esteem His name. “They will be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.” So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.
but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him.
O Lord, I beseech You, may Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to revere Your name, and make Your servant successful today and grant him compassion before this man.”Now I was the cupbearer to the king.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope for His lovingkindness,
Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He will also hear their cry and will save them.
“And His mercy is upon generation after generation
Toward those who fear Him.
How great is Your goodness,
Which You have stored up for those who fear You,
Which You have wrought for those who take refuge in You,
Before the sons of men!
And He will be the stability of your times,
A wealth of salvation, wisdom and knowledge;
The fear of the Lord is his treasure.
You have given a banner to those who fear You,
That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord;
He is their help and their shield.
In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence,
And his children will have refuge.
O fear the Lord, you His saints;
For to those who fear Him there is no want.
He has given food to those who fear Him;
He will remember His covenant forever.
‘They do not say in their heart,
“Let us now fear the Lord our God,
Who gives rain in its season,
Both the autumn rain and the spring rain,
Who keeps for us
The appointed weeks of the harvest.”
‘Your iniquities have turned these away,
And your sins have withheld good from you.
So the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God for our good always and for our survival, as it is today.
Who is the man who fears the Lord?
He will instruct him in the way he should choose.
His soul will abide in prosperity,
And his descendants will inherit the land.
Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him,
That glory may dwell in our land.
Praise the Lord!
How blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who greatly delights in His commandments.
The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord
Are riches, honor and life.
“But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.
“If you are not careful to observe all the words of this law which are written in this book, to fear this honored and awesome name, the Lord your God, then the Lord will bring extraordinary plagues on you and your descendants, even severe and lasting plagues, and miserable and chronic sicknesses. He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt of which you were afraid, and they will cling to you.read more.
Also every sickness and every plague which, not written in the book of this law, the Lord will bring on you until you are destroyed. Then you shall be left few in number, whereas you were as numerous as the stars of heaven, because you did not obey the Lord your God. It shall come about that as the Lord delighted over you to prosper you, and multiply you, so the Lord will delight over you to make you perish and destroy you; and you will be torn from the land where you are entering to possess it. Moreover, the Lord will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth; and there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone, which you or your fathers have not known. Among those nations you shall find no rest, and there will be no resting place for the sole of your foot; but there the Lord will give you a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and despair of soul. So your life shall hang in doubt before you; and you will be in dread night and day, and shall have no assurance of your life. In the morning you shall say, ‘Would that it were evening!’ And at evening you shall say, ‘Would that it were morning!’ because of the dread of your heart which you dread, and for the sight of your eyes which you will see.
The fear of the Lord prolongs life,
But the years of the wicked will be shortened.
The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life,
That one may avoid the snares of death.
The fear of the Lord leads to life,
So that one may sleep satisfied, untouched by evil.
Do not let your heart envy sinners,
But live in the fear of the Lord always.
Surely there is a future,
And your hope will not be cut off.
It will be to Me a name of joy, praise and glory before all the nations of the earth which will hear of all the good that I do for them, and they will fear and tremble because of all the good and all the peace that I make for it.’

The Rock of Israel spoke to me,
‘He who rules over men righteously,
Who rules in the fear of God,
He continued to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding through the vision of God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God prospered him.
So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.
