I cry to the grave, Thou art my father! to the worm, My mother, and my sister!


for thou wilt not leave my soul in hades, nor wilt thou give thy gracious one to see corruption.

Together they lie down in the dust, and the worms cover them.

All flesh would expire together, and man would return to the dust.

That he should still live perpetually, and not see corruption.

Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled; thou takest away their breath, they expire and return to their dust.

All go unto one place: all are of the dust, and all return to dust.

I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; The bars of the earth closed upon me for ever: But thou hast brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.

he, seeing it before, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that neither has he been left in hades nor his flesh seen corruption.

But he whom God raised up did not see corruption.


But this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God's kingdom, nor does corruption inherit incorruptibility.
