And the chief priests and all the sanhedrim sought false testimony against Jesus to kill him, and did not find it, though many false witnesses came forward. But afterwards, two coming forward said, This man said, I can destroy the temple of God and build it in three days.
And the scribes coming down from Jerusalem said, He has Beelzebul, and casts out demons by the ruler of demons.

And the high priest rent his clothes, and said, What further need have we of witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy; what do you think? And they all condemned him to be deserving of death. And some spit on him; and they blindfolded him, and beat him with the fist, and said to him, Prophesy. And the officers beat him with open hands.

And they accused him, saying, We have found this man perverting our nation, and forbidding to pay tribute to Caesar, saying that he is an anointed king.
