And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests, in order to betray Him unto them. And they were glad, when they heard it, and engaged to give him money. And he sought to betray Him at a proper season.

About this time went one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, to the chief priests, and said, What will ye give me, and I will deliver Him to you? and they promised him thirty pieces of silver:

Now the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people were then assembled together into the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas: and were consulting how they might take Jesus by treachery and put Him to death. But they said, Not on the feast-day, least there should be a tumult among the people.

And immediately while He was yet speaking cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests, and scribes, and elders: (Now the traitor had given them a sign, saying, The man, whom I shall kiss, is He; lay hold of Him and lead Him away safely:) and as soon as he came, he went directly up to Him and said, Master, Master; and kissed Him. read more.

Then the high priest rent his clothes and said, What farther need have we of witnesses? ye have heard the blasphemy; what think ye? and they all condemned Him as worthy of death. And they spit upon Him, and blind-folded Him, and then buffeted Him and said to Him, prophesy who it was: and the officers struck him with their rods. And Peter being in the hall below, there came one of the maid-servants of the high priest;

And the chief priests and scribes were consulting how they might put Him to death; for they were afraid of the people. Then entred Satan into Judas who was surnamed Iscariot, one of the twelve. And he went and conferred with the chief priests and the captains, how he might betray Him unto them. read more.
And they were glad and agreed to give him money: and he accepted the terms, and sought an opportunity to betray Him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people, and chief-priests, and scribes, assembled together, and ordered Him up into their council: and said to Him, Art thou the Messiah? tell us. And He said unto them, If I should tell you, ye would not believe: and if I should put any question to you, ye would not answer me, nor discharge me. read more.
But hereafter shall the Son of man be seated on the right hand of the power of God. And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And He said unto them, I am. And they said, What need have we of any farther evidence? when we ourselves have it from his own mouth?

Then they all rose up and led Him to Pilate. And they began to accuse Him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbiding to give tribute to Cesar; saying, that He himself is Christ the king.

Away with Him, away with Him, crucify Him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your king? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Cesar. Then delivered he Him therefore unto them to be crucified.
