And the people clamoured and desired him to do as he always used to do for them. But Pilate answered them, saying, Would ye have me release to you the king of the Jews? (for he knew that the chief priests had delivered Him up to him out of envy:)read more.
but the chief priests incited the people to desire that he would rather release Barabbas to them. And Pilate answered, and said to them again, What then would you have me do with Him, whom ye call king of the Jews? And they cried out again, Crucify Him. But Pilate said unto them, Why, what ill has He done? And they cried out the more vehemently, Crucify Him. So Pilate being willing to ingratiate with the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and having scourged Jesus, delivered Him up to be crucified.

After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no one could number, out of all nations, and tribes, and people, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and with palms in their hands;

And he said unto me, The waters which thou sawest, whereon the harlot sitteth, are people, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

and many people were gathered together to bear Him, so that He went into a ship and sat down, and all the multitude stood upon the shore; and He spake to them many things in parables,

And He began to teach again by the sea-side, and there was gathered unto Him a great multitude; so that He went into a ship, and sat on board, and all the people were by the sea, upon the shore.

And when a great multitude was gathered together, of those that came to Him out of every city, He spake a parable saying,

And they went into a house, and the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat.

And when Jesus passed over again in the ship to the other side, a great multitude was gathered unto Him, nigh unto the sea.

In the mean time great multitudes of people being gathered together about Him, so that they trode upon one another, He began to say to his disciples, Beware of the leaven of the pharisees, which is hypocrisy: for there is nothing concealed,

Now as he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him.

but Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea.

Now there were great multitudes going along with Him:

And a great multitude followed Him, because they saw his miracles which He performed on them that were diseased.

when Jesus saw the people flock together, He rebuked the impure spirit, and said to him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I command thee, Come out of him, and enter no more into him.

for he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying. (But as He was going, the people crouded Him:

Therefore said he to the multitudes that came to be baptised by him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

And great multitudes came to Him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others; and laid them at the feet of Jesus, and He healed them.

And Levi made Him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great number of publicans, and others at table with them.

The people answered Him, We have heard out of the law, that the Messiah abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, the Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

And the people that were with Him testified, that He called Lazarus out of the grave, and raised him from the dead:

And there was much murmuring among the people concerning Him: for some said, He is a good man; others said, No: He deceiveth the people.

And He went out again towards the sea-side, and all the people resorted to Him, and He taught them.

and He came down the hill with them, and stood in the plain; with the rest of his disciples, and a great multitude of people from all the parts of Judea, and from Jerusalem, and from the coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and to be healed of their diseases, even those that were tormented by impure spirits: and they were healed. And all the people endeavoured to touch Him, for there went a divine virtue out of Him, and healed them all.read more.
And lifting up his eyes on his disciples He said, Blessed are ye though poor; for the kingdom of God is yours.

And as they departed, Jesus took occasion to say to the people concerning John, What went ye out into the desert to see? a reed shaken by the wind?

When the messengers of John were departed, He began to speak unto the people concerning John, what went ye out into the wilderness to see?

Now on the same day, Jesus went out of the house, and sat by the sea-side: and many people were gathered together to bear Him, so that He went into a ship and sat down, and all the multitude stood upon the shore; and He spake to them many things in parables, saying, "Behold a sower went out to sow;

And He began to teach again by the sea-side, and there was gathered unto Him a great multitude; so that He went into a ship, and sat on board, and all the people were by the sea, upon the shore. And He taught them many things by similitudes, and said to them in his instruction, hearken, Behold a sower went out to sow:

And when a great multitude was gathered together, of those that came to Him out of every city, He spake a parable saying, A sower went out to sow his seed, and as he was sowing, some fell by the way-side, and was trodden down, and the birds of the air devoured it.

All these things spake Jesus in parables to the multitudes; and at this time He spake nothing to them without a parable:

And He called the multitude to Him, and said unto them, Hear and understand it:

But when the multitudes saw it, they were amazed, and glorified God, who had given such power to men.

for He taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

So that David himself calleth Him Lord: how then is He his son? And many of the people heard Him with pleasure.

And many of the people believed on Him, and said, When the Messiah cometh, will He do more miracles than this man hath done?

The people answered and said, Thou art possessed by a demon: who seeketh to kill thee?

The people therefore that stood by, and heard it, said, That it was thunder: but others said, it was an angel spake to Him.

and would have seized Him, but that they were afraid of the people; because they took Him for a prophet.

And they sought to lay hands on Him, but they were afraid of the people; (for they knew that He spake the parable against them) and they left Him, and went away.

And the chief priests and the scribes would have laid hands on Him at that very time, but were afraid of the people: for they perceived that He had spoken this parable against them.

And great numbers spread their garments in the way, and others cut off boughs from the trees, and strewed them in the way: and the multitudes, that went before and that followed, cried saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: blessed be He that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. And when He came into Jerusalem, all the city was in a commotion, saying, Who is this?read more.
And the people answered, This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth in Galilee.

Pilate seeing that he prevailed nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just man, look ye to it:

And while He was yet speaking, behold, Judas one of the twelve came, and with him a great number, with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people:

And immediately while He was yet speaking cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests, and scribes, and elders:

And while He was yet speaking, behold a multitude; and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve apostles, came before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss Him:

And when this rumor was spread, the multitude came together and were astonished; for every one heard them speaking in his own language.

But Peter standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said unto them, Ye men of Judea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and listen to my words:

And a great number out of the cities round about also came together to Jerusalem, bringing those that were infirm and that were troubled with impure spirits; and they were all cured.

And calling all the people to Him, He said unto them,

And the people unanimously attended to the things which were spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he wrought:

And on the next sabbath almost all the city came together to hear the word of God. But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, opposing and reviling him.

Then spake Jesus to the people and to his disciples, saying,

And the people, seeing what Paul had done, lifted up their voice, saying in the Lycaonian tongue, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men. And they called Barnabas Jupiter, and Paul Mercury; because he was the chief speaker. And the priest of Jupiter, whose image was before the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and with the people would have offered sacrifices to them.read more.
But the apostles Barnabas and Paul, when they heard of it, rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, and saying, "Sirs, why do ye these things? we also are men subject to the like infirmities with you, and we preach the gospel unto you, that ye may turn from these vanities to the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things therein, who in generations past suffered all the nations to walk in their own ways: though He left not Himself without witness; for He did us good, in giving us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness." And saying these things, they with difficulty restrained the people from sacrificing to them. But there came thither some Jews from Antioch and Iconium, and persuading the multitude, stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead.

And when Jesus came out of the ship, He saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion towards them; because they were as sheep without a shepherd: and He began to teach them many things.

And He arose from thence and came into the coasts of Judea, through the country beyond Jordan: and the people resorted to Him again; and, as He was wont, He taught them again.

And the populace rose up together against them: and the officers stripped off their clothes, and ordered them to be scourged.

And when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion towards them; because they were dispersed and scattered like sheep that have no shepherd:

But the unbelieving Jews being filled with envy, collected some loose profligate fellows, and making a tumult set all the city in an uproar: and assaulting Jason's house, they sought for them in order to bring them out to the populace. But not finding them, they dragged Jason and some of the brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, these men that have turned the world upside down, are come hither also, and Jason has privately received them. And they all act contrary to the decrees of Cesar, saying, there is another king, one Jesus.read more.
And they alarmed the people, and the rulers of the city upon hearing these things: but they taking security of Jason and the rest, let them go. And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night to Berea: who, when they were come thither, went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more ingenuous than those at Thessalonica; for they received the word with all readiness of mind, searching the scriptures daily, whether these things were so. And therefore many of them believed: and of the Grecian women of quality, and of men likewise not a few. But when the Jews of Thessalonica knew that the word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came thither also, to stir up the people.

and when Jesus came out of the ship, He saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them; and He healed their sick.

And when Paul would have gone in unto the people, the disciples would not let him. And some also of the chief men of Asia, being his friends, sent to him and desired him not to venture himself into the theatre. Some therefore cried one thing, and some another; for the assembly was confused, and the greater part did not know for what they were come together.read more.
And they brought Alexander forward out of the multitude, the Jews urging him on. And Alexander beckoning with the hand, would have made a defence to the people. But when they knew that he was a Jew, they all cried out with one voice, for near two hours, Great is Diana of the Ephesians. And the whole city was moved, and there was a concourse of the people: and they laid hold on Paul, and dragged him out of the temple; and immediately the gates were shut. And as they were going to kill him, a report came to the tribune of the cohort, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar: who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down to them. And when they saw the chiliarch and the soldiers, they left off beating Paul. Then the commanding officer came near and took him, and ordered him to be bound with two chains; and inquired, who he was, and what he had done. But some in the croud bawled out one thing and some another: and as he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle. And when he was upon the stairs, he was even borne by the soldiers, because of the violence of the people. For the multitude followed crying out, Away with him. And as Paul was going to be led into the castle, he said to the tribune, May I be allowed to speak a word to thee? And he said, Canst thou speak Greek? Art not thou that Egyptian, who before this madest a sedition, and didst lead out into the wilderness four thousand murtherers? But Paul said, I am indeed a Jew, a man of Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and I beg thou wouldest permit me to speak to the people. And when he gave him leave, Paul standing on the stairs made a sign with the hand to the people: and there being a great silence made, He spake to them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

and great multitudes followed Him, and there He healed them.

Now when it was evening his disciples came to Him and said, This is a desert place, and meal-time is now past; dismiss the people, that they may go away to the towns, and buy themselves victuals. But Jesus said to them, they have no need to go away, do ye give them something to eat. And they said, we have nothing here but five loaves and two fishes:read more.
and He said, bring them hither to me. And having ordered the multitudes to sit down upon the grass, and taken the five loaves and the two fishes, He looked up to heaven and blessed them; and He brake the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples to the people: and they did all eat, and were satisfied; and they took up what was left even of fragments twelve baskets full. Now they that had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

And they heard him to this word, and then they exalted their voice, saying, Away with such a fellow from the earth; for it is not fit that he should live.

And when it was now late in the day, his disciples came to Him, and said, this is a desert place, and it is now late: dismiss them, that they may go into the country-places and villages round about, and buy themselves bread; for they have nothing to eat. But He answered them, Do ye give them something to eat. And they say to Him, shall we go and buy two hundred penny-worth of bread, and give them to eat?read more.
But He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they had examined, they said, Five, and two fishes. And He ordered them to cause all the people to sit down by companies upon the grass: and they sat down in an oblong square, an hundred by fifty. And when He had taken the five loaves, and the two fishes, He looked up to heaven, and gave thanks; then He brake the loaves and gave them to his disciples, to set before them; the two fishes likewise He divided among them all. And they did all eat and were fully satisfied. And they took up of the fragments of the bread, and of the fishes, twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men.

And when the day began to decline, the twelve came and said to Him, Dismiss the people, that they may go into the villages and country-places round about, and bait, and get food: for here we are in a desert place. But He said unto them, Do ye give them food. And they said, We have but five loaves and two fishes: unless we should go and buy provisions for all this people: for they were about five thousand men. And He said to his disciples, Make them sit down in companies by fifty.read more.
And they did so, and caused them all to sit down. And He took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven He blessed them; and brake and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. And they did eat, and were all satisfied: and there was taken up what remained even of fragments twelve baskets.

Then Jesus lifted up his eyes, and seeing a great multitude come to Him, saith to Philip, Whence shall we buy bread that these people may eat? (and this He said to try him, for He knew what He was going to do:) Philip answered Him, Two hundred penny-worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one may take a little.read more.
One of his disciples, to wit, Andrew the brother of Simon Peter, saith unto Him, There is a lad here, that hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes; but what are they among so many? And Jesus said, Make the men sit down: (now there was much grass in the place:) so the men sat down in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were sat down; and of the fishes likewise, as much as they would take. And when they were filled, He saith to his disciples, Gather up the fragments that are left, that nothing may be lost. They therefore gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley-loaves, which remained after they had eaten.

And after these things I heard a loud voice as of a great multitude in heaven, saying, Alleluia; salvation, and glory, and honor, and power to the Lord our God: for true and righteous are his judgements;

Then Jesus called his disciples to Him and said, I am moved with compassion to the multitude, for they have been with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: I will not let them go away fasting, least they faint in the way. And his disciples replied, Whence can we have so much bread in this desert place as to satisfy so great a multitude? And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? and they said, Seven, and a few small fishes.read more.
Then He bid the people sit down on the ground; and taking the seven loaves and the fishes, when He had given thanks, He brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were satisfied: and they took up what was left even of fragments seven baskets full. Now they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.

In those days, there being again a very great multitude, and they having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to Him, and saith unto them, I have compassion on the multitude, for they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat: and if I send them away fasting to their own home, they will faint by the way; for some of them are come from far.read more.
And his disciples answered Him, From whence can one satisfy these people with bread here in a desert? And He asked them, How many loaves have ye? and they said, Seven. And He ordered the people to sit down upon the ground: and taking the seven loaves, He gave thanks and brake them, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the multitude. And they had a few small fishes: and He blessed them, and bid them set them also before the people. And they did eat and were satisfied: and they took up what were left, to wit of fragments seven baskets: and they that had eaten were about four thousand. And then He dismissed them. And going directly on board a ship with his disciples, He came into the parts of Dalmanutha:

Then said Jesus to the multitudes, Ye are come out as against a thief with swords and clubs to take me, whereas I sat with you day after day teaching in the temple, and ye did not seize me: but all this is done,

And Jesus said unto them, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and clubs to take me?

And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the musicians, and the people in confusion; He saith unto them, Retire; for the child is not dead, but asleep. And they laughed at Him. But when the people were put out, He went in and took hold of her hand, and the damsel rose up.

and not being able to come near to Him for the croud, they uncovered the roof where He was, and when they had made an openning, they let down the couch on which the paralytic was laid.

but when they could not find what way to bring him in because of the croud, they went up on the battlements of the house, and let him down from the roof with his couch, into the midst before Jesus,

And presently after Jesus obliged the disciples to get into the ship, and to go before Him to the other side, while He dismissed the multitudes:

And immediately He obliged his disciples to get into the ship, and to go before Him to the other side to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the people:

But He passed through the midst of them, and went away.

So they dismissed the multitude, and took Him as He was in the ship. But there were other small vessels likewise with Him.

but he, that was healed, did not know who it was: for Jesus had withdrawn himself, there being many people in the place.

And He took him aside out of the croud, and He spit and put his fingers into his ears, and touched his tongue:

And one of the multitude answered, and said, Master I have brought unto thee my son, who is possessed by a dumb spirit:

And the next day, when they came down from the mountain, a great multitude met Him: and one of the people cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee look upon my son, for he is my only child; and lo, a spirit seizeth him, and all on a sudden he screameth, and it convulses him with foaming; and bruising him, with much ado departs from him.read more.
And I prayed thy disciples to cast him out, and they could not.

And when Jesus passed over again in the ship to the other side, a great multitude was gathered unto Him, nigh unto the sea. And behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, named Jairus; and as soon as he saw Him, he fell at his feet, and earnestly intreated Him, saying, My little daughter is at the point of death, I beseech thee that thou wouldst come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.read more.
So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him, and pressed about Him. And a woman who had been in a flux twelve years, and had suffered a great deal from many physicians, and spent all that she had, and received no benefit, but rather grew worse, when she heard of Jesus, came behind Him in the croud, and touched his garment; for she said, If I can but touch his clothes, I shall be cured. And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt within herself that she was healed of the disorder. And immediately Jesus, knowing in Himself that power was gone out of Him, turned about in the croud and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto Him, Thou seest the multitude crouding about thee, and dost thou ask, Who touched me? and He looked round about to see who had done it. But the woman being afraid and trembling, as knowing what had been done in her, came and prostrated herself to Him, and told Him all the truth: and He said to her, Daughter, thy faith has saved thee; go in peace, and be healed of thy disorder.

and as He came near to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carrying out to be buried, his mother's only son, and she was a widow: and many of the people of the city were with her.

and behold, there was a man named Zaccheus, who was the chief publican, and very rich. And he sought to see Jesus who He was; but he could not for the croud; for he was little of stature.

And they came to Jericho: and as He was going out of Jericho, with his disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimeus, the son of Timeus, sat by the way-side begging. And hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. And many rebuked him, that he might hold his peace: but he cried out so much the more, Thou son of David, have pity on me.

And as he was near to Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way-side begging. And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. And they told him, Jesus of Nazareth is coming by.read more.
And he cried out, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have compassion on me. And they, that went before, rebuked him, that he might hold his peace, but he cried out the more, O Son of David, have pity on me.

As He was speaking these things, a certain woman lifted up her voice from amidst the croud, and said, Happy is the womb that bare thee, and the breasts which thou didst suck!

In these lay a great number of people that were infirm, blind, lame, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel descended at a certain season into the pool, and moved the water; the first therefore that went in after the disturbing of the water, was cured of whatever malady he laboured under. And there was a man who had been under illness thirty eight years.read more.
Jesus seeing him lie there, and knowing that he had been now a long time ill, saith unto him, Dost thou desire to be cured? The infirm man answered Him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is moved, to put me into the pool; but while I am coming, another goes down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was cured: and he took up his bed and walked.

I knew indeed that Thou always hearest me: but because of the people standing by I say this, that they may believe that Thou hast sent me.
