Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; protect it, because it is your life.

When Moses finished reciting all these words to all Israel he said to them, "Keep in mind all the words I am solemnly proclaiming to you today; you must command your children to observe carefully all the words of this law. For this is no idle word for you -- it is your life! By this word you will live a long time in the land you are about to cross the Jordan to possess."
The teaching of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the speech of the wicked conceals violence.
Speech that heals is like a life-giving tree, but a perverse tongue breaks the spirit.

Then Jesus came up and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Again, however, pay very careful attention, lest you forget the things you have seen and disregard them for the rest of your life; instead teach them to your children and grandchildren. Now these are the commandments, statutes, and ordinances that the Lord your God instructed me to teach you so that you may carry them out in the land where you are headed and that you may so revere the Lord your God that you will keep all his statutes and commandments that I am giving you -- you, your children, and your grandchildren -- all your lives, to prolong your days. The land will not yield its produce, and you will soon be removed from the good land that the Lord is about to give you. Teach them to your children and speak of them as you sit in your house, as you walk along the road, as you lie down, and as you get up.
