"Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock.

So the disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.

So the disciples did as Jesus had instructed them, and they prepared the Passover.

Simon answered, "Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your word I will lower the nets."

"Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and puts them into practice -- I will show you what he is like:

Jesus told the servants, "Fill the water jars with water." So they filled them up to the very top.

So when Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to him.

He told them, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they threw the net, and were not able to pull it in because of the large number of fish.

Jesus replied, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come from God and am now here. I have not come on my own initiative, but he sent me.

Now we know that you know everything and do not need anyone to ask you anything. Because of this we believe that you have come from God."

But Naomi replied, "Go back home, my daughters! There is no reason for you to return to Judah with me! I am no longer capable of giving birth to sons who might become your husbands! Go back home, my daughters! For I am too old to get married again. Even if I thought that there was hope that I could get married tonight and conceive sons, surely you would not want to wait until they were old enough to marry! Follow your sister-in-law back home!" But Ruth replied, "Stop urging me to abandon you! For wherever you go, I will go. Wherever you live, I will live. Your people will become my people, and your God will become my God. Wherever you die, I will die -- and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me severely if I do not keep my promise! Only death will be able to separate me from you!" When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped trying to dissuade her.

He will encourage you and provide for you when you are old, for your daughter-in-law, who loves you, has given him birth. She is better to you than seven sons!"
