These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,


Butter of cows, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.

Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he-goats.

And there was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel.

Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.

Turn away thy eyes from me, for they have overcome me: thy hair is as a flock of goats that appear from Gilead.

And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them. Speak to the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. Whatever parteth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that shall ye eat. read more.
Nevertheless, these shall ye not eat, of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean to you. And the swine, though he divideth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. And every man, with whom was found blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair, and red skins of rams, and badgers' skins, brought them.

And thou shalt make curtains of goats' hair to be a covering upon the tabernacle: eleven curtains shalt thou make.

And he made curtains of goats' hair for the tent over the tabernacle: eleven curtains he made them.


The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.

Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his men upon the rocks of the wild goats.


And Jesse took an ass laden with bread, and a bottle of wine, and a kid, and sent them by David his son to Saul.

And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin-offering, and one ram for a burnt-offering.

And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

And all the women whose heart moved them in wisdom spun goats' hair.

And he made curtains of goats' hair for the tent over the tabernacle: eleven curtains he made them. The length of one curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits was the breadth of one curtain: the eleven curtains were of one size. And he made fifty loops upon the outermost edge of the curtain in the coupling, and fifty loops made he upon the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second. And he made fifty buttons of brass to couple the tent together, that it might be one.


And there was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel.
