And He called the Twelve to Him and sent them out two by two, and gave them power over the foul spirits. He ordered them not to take anything for the journey except a staff, no bread, no bag, no money in the purse; they were to go with plain sandals on their feet and not to wear two shirts. read more.
And He continued to say to them, "Whenever you put up at a house, stay there until you leave that place. And if any place refuses to welcome you or to listen to you, when you leave there shake off the very dust from the soles of your feet as a warning to them."

Jesus sent these twelve out, after giving them the following charge: "Do not go to the heathen, or to any Samaritan town, but rather to the lost sheep of Israel's house. And as you go continue to preach, 'The kingdom of heaven is near.' read more.
Keep on curing the sick, raising the dead, healing lepers, and driving out demons. You received and gave no pay; you must give and take none. Do not accept gold or silver or even copper money for your purse, and do not take a bag for your journey, nor two shirts, nor any shoes, nor a staff, for the workman deserves his support. Into whatever town or village you go, inquire for some deserving person, and stay at his house until you leave the place. As you go into his house, wish it well, and if the house should prove deserving, may your good wish for peace upon it come true, but if not, may your good wish bring peace to yourselves. And whoever will not welcome you, or listen to your words, on leaving that place shake off from your feet its very dust. I tell you, the punishment on the day of judgment will be lighter for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.

But as to times and dates, brothers, you have no need of anyone's writing you, for you yourselves know perfectly well that the day of the Lord is coming like a thief in the night. When people say, "Such peace and security!" then suddenly destruction falls upon them, like birth pains upon a woman who is about to become a mother, but they shall not escape, no, not at all. read more.
But you, brothers, are not in darkness, so that that day, like a thief, should take you by surprise;

The day of the Lord will come like a thief; on that day the heavens will pass away with a roar, the heavenly bodies will be destroyed by being burned up, and the earth with all its works will melt away. If all these things are to be dissolved in this way, what men you ought to be! What holy and pious lives you ought to lead, since you are awaiting and hastening the coming of the day of God, which will cause the heavens to blaze and dissolve and the heavenly bodies to burn up and melt away!

"But in those days, after that misery, the sun will turn dark, the moon will not shed its light, the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers of the sky will be shaken.

And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on earth despair of nations in bewilderment at the roaring of the sea and its waves, men fainting with fear and apprehension of the things that are to come upon the world, for the powers of the sky will be shaken.

But you have come to Mount Zion, even to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless hosts of angels, to the festal gathering and assembly of God's firstborn sons enrolled as citizens in heaven, to a Judge who is the God of all, to the spirits of upright men who have attained perfection, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood which speaks a better message than even Abel's did. read more.
See to it that you do not refuse to listen to Him who is speaking to you. For if they did not escape, because they refused to listen to him who warned them here on earth, how much less can we, if we reject Him who is from heaven? Then His voice shook the earth, but now His promise is, "Once more I will make not only the earth but heaven itself tremble." Now that expression, "Once more," signifies the final removal of the things that can be shaken, to let remain the things that cannot be shaken.
