Because it is contained in Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen, and precious: He who believes in him will not be put to shame."
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone of a sure foundation. He who believes shall not be put to shame.
"Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, will be compared to a wise man, who built his house on a rock.
being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone;

However God's firm foundation stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness."

Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares. She calls at the head of noisy places. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, emerald, chrysolite, onyx, jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and beryl. Gold work of tambourines and of pipes was in you. In the day that you were created they were prepared.

Sapphires come from its rocks. It has dust of gold.

But his bow remained strong. The arms of his hands were made strong, by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, (from there is the shepherd, the stone of Israel),

When a man's ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
