But may the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, confirm you.

Abide in me, and I will abide in you. As the branch can not bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing. If any one abide not in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and withers; and such are gathered, and thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done for you. In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; and in this you will be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is my commandment: That you love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that one should lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you. I no longer call you servants, because the servant knows not what his master does. But I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard from my Father, I have made known to you. You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and appointed you, that you may go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit may remain; that whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he may give you.
