Do you not know your body is the temple of the holy Spirit within you ??the Spirit you have received from God? You are not your own,

you were bought for a price; then glorify God with your body.

But I would like you to understand this: Christ is the head of every man, man is the head of woman, and God is the head of Christ.

Do you not know that he who joins himself to a harlot is one with her in body (for the pair, it is said, shall become one flesh),

that each of you should learn to take a wife for himself chastely and honourably,

they get the name of 'wisdom' with their self-imposed devotions, with their fasting, with their rigorous discipline of the body, but they are of no value, they simply pamper the flesh!

Well then, my brothers, we owe a duty ??but it is not to the flesh! It is not to live by the flesh!

The Spirit is the witness to this, for the Spirit is truth.

So ought husbands to love their wives ??to love them as their own bodies (he who loves his wife loves himself).

As we live by the Spirit, let us be guided by the Spirit;
