And to the angel of the church in Sardes write: These things saith he who hath the seven spirits of God, and the seven stars: I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the remaining things, that were ready to die; for I have not found thy works perfect before my God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and keep those things, and repent. So then, because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am about to vomit thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and have gotten wealth, and have need of nothing, and knowest not that thou art the wretched and the pitiable one, and poor, and blind, and naked, I advise thee to buy of me gold refined by fire, that thou mayst be rich; and white garments, that thou mayst be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness may not be made manifest; and eyesalve to anoint thine eyes, that thou mayst see. read more.
