When I look up at the heavens, which your fingers made, and see the moon and the stars, which you set in place, Of what importance is the human race, that you should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, that you should pay attention to them,

What is man that he should be pure, or one born of woman, that he should be righteous?
If God puts no trust in his servants and attributes folly to his angels, how much more to those who live in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed like a moth?
"Is it to God that a strong man is of benefit? Is it to him that even a wise man is profitable? Is it of any special benefit to the Almighty that you should be righteous, or is it any gain to him that you make your ways blameless? Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, or made the dawn know its place, that it might seize the corners of the earth, and shake the wicked out of it?
O Lord, of what importance is the human race, that you should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, that you should be concerned about them? People are like a vapor, their days like a shadow that disappears.
Profit » What is profitable
For "physical exercise has some value, but godliness is valuable in every way. It holds promise for the present life and for the life to come."
In all hard work there is profit, but merely talking about it only brings poverty.
Your wickedness affects only a person like yourself, and your righteousness only other people.
Wisdom, like an inheritance, is a good thing; it benefits those who see the light of day.
Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work. They must not slander anyone, but be peaceable, gentle, showing complete courtesy to all people. This saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on such truths, so that those who have placed their faith in God may be intent on engaging in good works. These things are good and beneficial for all people.
