When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers; the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly: How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth?

Can a man be profitable to God, as he that is wise may be profitable to himself? Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect? Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment? read more.

How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; and the stars are not pure in his sight. How much less man, that is a worm; and the son of man, who is a worm?

Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's? For thou saidst, What advantage will it be to thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin? I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee. read more.
Look to the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou. If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions are multiplied, what doest thou to him? If thou art righteous, what givest thou to him? or what receiveth he from thy hand? Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art: and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.

Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the day-spring to know its place; That it might take hold of the ends of earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior towards man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit; Which he shed on us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Savior; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they who have believed in God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.
