Behold, God is great, and we know Him not! The number of His years is unsearchable. For He draws up the drops of water, which distil as rain from His vapor,

I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days, You Whose years continue throughout all generations. At the beginning You existed and laid the foundations of the earth; the heavens are the work of Your hands. They shall perish, but You shall remain and endure; yes, all of them shall wear out and become old like a garment. But You remain the same, and Your years shall have no end.

And [further], You, Lord, did lay the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the works of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain and continue permanently; they will all grow old and wear out like a garment. Like a mantle [thrown about one's self] You will roll them up, and they will be changed and replaced by others. But You remain the same, and Your years will never end nor come to failure.
