Caiaphas » Jesus tried before
And they who had seized Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had assembled.
You know that after two days the Passover comes, and the Son of Man is betrayed to be crucified. Then the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, assembled together to the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.
But Jesus was silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus said to him, You said it. I tell you more. From this time you shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of the heavens. Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.

I always taught in the synagogue and in the temple, where the Jews always resort, and I have said nothing in secret. Why do you ask Me? Ask those who heard me what I have said to them. Behold, they know what I said. And when He had spoken this way, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Do you answer the high priest so? Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me? Then Annas had sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest. Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me? Then Annas had sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
