Now the Jewish passover was near, so Jesus went up to Jerusalem. There he found, seated inside the temple, dealers in cattle, sheep and pigeons, also money-changers. When he was in Jerusalem at the festival of the passover, many people believed in his name, as they witnessed the Signs which he performed. Jesus, however, would not trust himself to them; he knew all men, and required no evidence from anyone about human nature; well did he know what was in human nature.
