He was a burning, and a shining light; and ye would for a season have rejoiced in his light. But I have greater witness than the witness of John. For the works which the father hath given me to finish: the same works that I do: bear witness of me, that the father sent me. And the father himself, which hath sent me, beareth witness of me. Ye have not heard his voice at any time; Nor yet have seen his shape. Thereto, his words have ye not abiding in you: For whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. And he said unto them, "These are the words, which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you: that all must be fulfilled which were written of me in the law of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms." Then opened he their wits, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, "Thus is it written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise again from death the third day.
Witness » Who is a witness of the lord
That which was from the beginning, declare we unto you; which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life. For the life appeared: and we have seen, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the father, and appeared unto us. And while they looked steadfastly up to heaven, as he went; behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, which also said, "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come, even as ye have seen him go into heaven."

And as the halt which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran amazed unto them in Solomon's porch. When Peter saw that, he answered unto the people, "Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? Or why look ye so steadfastly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man go? Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of such things, though that ye know them yourselves and be also established in the present truth. Notwithstanding, I think it mete, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; forasmuch as I am sure how that the time is at hand that I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath showed me. I will enforce, therefore, that on every side ye might have wherewith to stir up the remembrance of these things after my departing. Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of such things, though that ye know them yourselves and be also established in the present truth. Notwithstanding, I think it mete, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; forasmuch as I am sure how that the time is at hand that I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath showed me. I will enforce, therefore, that on every side ye might have wherewith to stir up the remembrance of these things after my departing. For we followed not deceitful fables when we opened unto you the power, and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but with our eyes we saw his majesty:
The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, for to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass. And he sent and showed by his angel unto his servant John, which bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
