These things have I written unto you that believe in the name of the son of God, that ye may know how that ye have everlasting life, and that ye may believe in the name of the son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him: that if we ask ought, according to his will, he heareth us. Dearly beloved, if our hearts condemn us not, then have we trust to God ward; and whatsoever we ask, that we shall receive of him: because we keep his commandments, and do those things which are pleasing in his sight.

When Jesus perceived the thoughts of their hearts, he took a child, and set him hard by him, and said unto them, "Whosoever receiveth this child in my name, receiveth me. And whosoever receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me. For he that is least among you all, the same shall be great."
But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my father which is in heaven. Think not, that I am come to send peace into the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: read more.

And commanded them, that they should take nothing unto their Journey, save a rod only: Neither scrip, neither bread, neither money in their purses: but should be shod with sandals. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust that is under your feet, for a witness unto them. And he said to them, "Take no thing to succor you by the way: neither staff, nor scrip, neither bread neither money, neither have two coats. read more.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor will hear your preaching, when ye depart out of that house, or that city, shake off the dust of your feet. Search the scriptures: for in them, ye think ye have eternal life; and they are they which testify of me. And yet will ye not come to me that ye might have life. I receive not praise of men: But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. I am come in my father's name, and ye receive me not. If another shall come in his own name, him will ye receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh of God only? Do not think that I will accuse you to my father. There is one that accuseth you, even Moses in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: For he wrote of me. But seeing ye believe not his writing, how shall ye believe my words?"

I receive not praise of men: But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. I am come in my father's name, and ye receive me not. If another shall come in his own name, him will ye receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh of God only? Do not think that I will accuse you to my father. There is one that accuseth you, even Moses in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: For he wrote of me. But seeing ye believe not his writing, how shall ye believe my words?"
