And Herod with his men of war despised him, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.

And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.

I know that you are Abraham's descendant; but you seek to kill me, because my word has no place in you.

Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the region of Judea beyond Jordan;

After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:

Jerusalem is built as a city that is compact together: Where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD. For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

For there is no man that does anything in secret, when he himself seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world. For neither did his brothers believe in him. Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you; but me it hates, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. Go you up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet fully come. When he had said these words unto them, he remained still in Galilee. But when his brothers were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret. Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he? And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceives the people. However no man spoke openly of him for fear of the Jews. Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
