Abraham » How regarded by his descendants
and think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for our father; for I say to you, that God is able out of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.
And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo! for eighteen years, to be loosed from this bond on the sabbathday?
There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth there, when ye see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out.

They answered him, We are Abrahams offspring, and have never been in bondage to any one; how sayest, thou, Ye will be made free? After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for he would not walk in Judaea, because the Jews sought to kill him.

If I speak truth, Why do ye not believe me? He that is of God heareth Gods words; for this cause ye do not hear, because ye are not of God.

And he said, To you lawyers also, woe! for ye load men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers. Woe to you! for ye build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. So then ye bear witness to and approve the deeds of your fathers; for they indeed killed them, and ye are building [their tombs]. Therefore the wisdom of God also said, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute; that the blood of all the prophets, which hath been shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation; from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was slain between the altar and the temple. Yea, I tell you, it will be required of this generation. Woe to you lawyers! because ye have taken away the key of knowledge; ye have not entered yourselves, and those who were entering ye have hindered. They reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are disciples of Moses. We know that God hath spoken to Moses; but as for this man, we know not whence he is. The man answered and said to them, Why, herein is a marvelous thing, that ye know not whence he is, and yet he opened my eyes. read more.
