For everyone who does such things and acts unfairly is detestable to the Lord your God.

Are there still the treasures of wickedness and the accursed short measure in the house of the wicked? Can I excuse wicked scales or bags of deceptive weights? For the wealthy of the city are full of violence, and its residents speak lies; the tongues in their mouths are deceitful.

A merchant loves to extort with dishonest scales in his hands. But Ephraim says: "How rich I have become; I made it all myself. With the first lamb offer two quarts of fine flour mixed with one quart of oil from crushed olives, and a drink offering of one quart of wine.

You are also to drink water by measure, a sixth of a gallon, which you will drink from time to time.
