Even as they delivered them to us, who from the beginning were eye-witnesses, and ministers of the word;

Beginning from the baptism of John, to that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are ye not my work in the Lord?

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life;


Even as they delivered them to us, who from the beginning were eye-witnesses, and ministers of the word;


The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, Even as they delivered them to us, who from the beginning were eye-witnesses, and ministers of the word; It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, read more.
That thou mayest know the certainty of those things in which thou hast been instructed.




And he was seen many days by them who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.
