And they, having heard it, lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, "Lord, Thou Who didst make the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all things in them; Who, through the Holy Spirit by the mouth of our father David, Thy servant, didst say, 'Why did the gentiles rage, and the peoples premeditate empty things? The kings of the earth did set themselves in array; and the rulers assembled together, against the Lord, and against His Christ.' read more.

And the Pharisees, seeing it, said to His disciples, Why is your Teacher eating with the tax-collectors and sinners?" And Jesus, hearing it, said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are ill. But, going, learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice;' for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

And the scribes of the Pharisees, seeing that He was eating with the sinners and tax-collectors, said to His disciples, "Why doth He eat with the tax-collectors and sinners?" Confess, therefore, your sins one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. A righteous man's inwrought supplication avails much.

And He said, "Verily I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his own country. But of a truth I say to you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when there came a great famine upon all the land; and to no one of them was Elijah sent, except to Zarephath in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
