And after six days Jesus took along Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothing became bright as the light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with him. read more.
So Peter answered [and] said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good [that] we are here! If you want, I will make here three shelters, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah." [While] he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice from the cloud said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him!" And [when] the disciples heard [this], they fell down on their faces and were extremely frightened. And Jesus came and touched them [and] said, "Get up and do not be afraid." And [when they] lifted up their eyes they saw no one except him--Jesus alone. And [as] they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them saying, "Tell no one the vision until the Son of Man is raised from the dead." And the disciples asked him, saying, "Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?" And he answered [and] said, "Elijah indeed is coming, and will restore all [things]. But I say to you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but did with him whatever they wanted. In the [same] way also the Son of Man is going to suffer [at] their hands." Then the disciples understood that he had spoken to them about John the Baptist.

And after six days, Jesus took along Peter and James and John, and led them to a high mountain by themselves alone. And he was transfigured before them, and his clothing became radiant--extremely white, like no cloth refiner on earth can {make so white}. And Elijah appeared to them together with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. read more.
And Peter answered [and] said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good [that] we are here! And let us make three shelters, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah." (For he did not know what he should answer, because they were terrified.) And a cloud came, overshadowing them, and a voice came from the cloud, "This is my beloved Son. Listen to him!" And suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone with them but Jesus alone. And [as] they were coming down from the mountain, he ordered them that they should tell no one [the things] that they had seen, except when the Son of Man had risen from the dead. And they kept the matter to themselves, discussing what this rising from the dead {meant}. And they asked him, saying, "{Why do} the scribes say that Elijah must come first?" And he said to them, "Elijah indeed does come first [and] restores all [things]. And how is it written concerning the Son of Man that he should suffer many [things] and be treated with contempt? But I tell you that indeed Elijah has come, and they did to him whatever they wanted, just as it is written about him."

Now it happened that about eight days after these words, he took along Peter and John and James [and] went up on the mountain to pray. And as he was praying, the appearance of his face became different, and his clothing [became] white, gleaming like lightning. And behold, two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah, read more.

For we did not make known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ [by] following ingeniously concocted myths, but [by] being eyewitnesses of that one's majesty. For [he] received honor and glory from God the Father [when] a voice such as this was brought to him by the Majestic Glory, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." And [we] ourselves heard this voice brought from heaven [when we] were with him on the holy mountain,
