When Jesus heard it, he said to them: Those who are in health have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy, and not sacrifice. For I came not to call righteous men, but sinners to repentance.

And when Jesus heard it, he said to them: Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call righteous men, but sinners.

And it came to pass, as Jesus reclined at table in his house, that many publicans and sinners reclined with him and his disciples; for there were many, and they followed him. And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees were in the habit of fasting; and they came, and said to him: Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples fast not? And Jesus said to them: Can the sons of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they can not fast. But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then they will fast in those days. No one sews a patch of new cloth on an old garment; if so, the new piece which fills it up, takes from the old, and a worse rent is made. And no one puts new wine into old bottles; if so, the new wine bursts the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles are destroyed. But new wine must be put into new bottles.

But new wine must be put into new bottles, and both will be preserved. And no one, after drinking old wine, immediately desires new; for he says: The old is better.

The God of our fathers has raised up Jesus, whom you slew by hanging him on a tree. Him has God exalted to his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, in order to give to Israel repentance and remission of sins:
