And Jesus knew their thoughts and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself shall not remain;

But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every house or city divided against itself will not remain.


O LORD of the hosts, who examines that which is just, who seest the kidneys and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee I have opened my cause.


And Jesus, knowing afterward in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said unto them, Why think ye these things in your hearts?

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Why think ye evil in your hearts? For what is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee, or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins (then said he to the paralyzed man), Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. Then he arose and departed to his house. And the multitude, seeing it, marvelled and glorified God, who had given such power unto men.

And again he entered into Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that he was in the house. And soon many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door; and he preached the word unto them. And they came unto him, bringing a paralytic, carried by four men. read more.
And when they could not come near unto him for the crowd, they uncovered the roof of the house where he was; and when they had broken it open, they let down the bed in which the paralytic lay. When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the paralytic, Son, thy sins are forgiven thee. But there were certain of the scribes sitting there and thinking in their hearts, Why does this fellow so blaspheme? Who can forgive sins but God only? And Jesus, knowing afterward in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said unto them, Why think ye these things in your hearts? What is easier to say to the paralytic, Thy sins are forgiven thee, or to say, Arise and take up thy bed and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins (he spoke to the sick of the palsy), I say unto thee, Arise and take up thy bed and go to thy house. And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every town of Galilee and Judaea and Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. And, behold, men brought in a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they sought means to bring him in and to lay him before him. And when they could not find any way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus. read more.

And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

I have come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not; if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

But he went out and began to publish it much and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places; and they came to him from every quarter.


And those that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads and saying, Ah, thou that would destroy the temple of God and build it in three days, save thyself and come down from the cross . Likewise also the princes of the priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. read more.
Let the Christ, King of Israel, descend now from the stake that we may see and believe. And those that were crucified with him reviled him.

And the Pharisees came forth and began to argue with him, demanding of him a sign from heaven, tempting him. And crying out in his spirit, he said, Why does this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.
