I am not saying this as a command, but I am testing the genuineness of your love by comparison with the eagerness of others.
Let each one examine his own work. Then he can take pride in himself and not compare himself with someone else.
The Lord's words are absolutely reliable. They are as untainted as silver purified in a furnace on the ground, where it is thoroughly refined.
O Lord who rules over all, you test and prove the righteous. You see into people's hearts and minds. Pay them back for what they have done because I trust you to vindicate my cause.
