And he immediately constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and go before him to the opposite side, while he sent the multitudes away. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain apart to pray. And when evening came, he was there alone. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was against them. read more.
And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were alarmed, and said: It is a specter! and they cried out for fear. But Jesus immediately spoke to them, and said: Take courage; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him, and said: Lord, if it be thou, bid me come to thee on the water. And he said: Come. And Peter went down from the ship, and walked upon the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind strong, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying: Lord, save me. And it came to pass while the multitude was pressing on him to hear the word of God, and he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, that he saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets. And he entered one of the ships, which was Simon s, and requested him to push out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the multitude from the ship. read more.
And when he had made an end of speaking, he said to Simon: Push out into the deep water, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answered and said to him: Master, we have toiled all night and have caught nothing; but at thy command, I will let down the net. And when they had done this, they inclosed a great number of fishes, and their net began to break; and they beckoned to their partners who were in the other ship, to come and help them. And they came and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. And when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at the knees of Jesus, and said: Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man. For amazement at the draught of fishes which they had caught had seized upon him and all that were with him;

There were together, Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathaniel of Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples. Simon Peter said to them: I am going a fishing. They said to him: We also are going with you. They went out and entered the ship; and that night they caught nothing. read more.
But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them: Children, have you any food? They answered him: No. He said to them: Throw the net on the right side of the ship, and you will find. They threw it, there fore, and were no longer able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. Then that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter: It is the Lord. And when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girded on his outer coat, for he had on his inner garment only, and threw himself into the sea. And the other disciples came in a little ship, dragging the net with fishes, for they were not far from the land, only about two hundred cubits. As soon as they had come to the land, they saw there a fire of coals, and fish lying upon it, and bread. Jesus said to them; Bring of the fish that you have just taken. Simon Peter went and drew the net to the land, full of large fishes, a hundred and fifty-three. And though they were so many, the net did not break.
