Then they understood that he did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" They said to him, "Twelve." "And when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of pieces did you take up?" And they said, "Seven." He said to them, "Do you not yet understand?"
And they discussed it with one another, saying, "It is because we have no bread." Being aware of it, Jesus said to them, "Why do you discuss the fact that you have no bread?
