And they come to Jericho; and as he was going out of Jericho with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the wayside. And hearing that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, Son of David, Jesus, have pity on me! And as they were going out of Jericho, a great multitude followed him. And lo! two blind men, who were sitting by the wayside, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, Have pity on us, Son of David! And the multitude sharply bade them be silent. And it came to pass, as he drew near to Jericho, that a certain blind man was sitting by the wayside begging. And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what this meant. And they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. read more.

And Jesus said to him, Receive thy sight; thy faith hath saved thee. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, giving glory to God; and all the people on seeing it gave praise to God.

In that hour he cured many of diseases, and plagues, and evil spirits, and to many who were blind he gave sight.

And as he was passing along, he saw a man who had been blind from his birth.
