Jesus answered them, "You are deceived, because you don't know the Scriptures or the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like angels in heaven. The same day some Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came up to Him and questioned Him: "Teacher, Moses said, if a man dies, having no children, his brother is to marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. So if you have been raised with the Messiah, seek what is above, where the Messiah is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on what is above, not on what is on the earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with the Messiah in God.

Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come out-those who have done good things, to the resurrection of life, but those who have done wicked things, to the resurrection of judgment.

When the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they came together in the same place.

When he said this, a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided. For the Sadducees say there is no resurrection, and no angel or spirit, but the Pharisees affirm them all.

and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:He will give His angelsorders concerning you,
and they will support you with their hands
so that you will not strike
your foot against a stone.




He speaks about these things in all his letters in which there are some matters that are hard to understand. The untaught and unstable twist them to their own destruction, as they also do with the rest of the Scriptures.
