You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has become tasteless, by what means shall it become salt again? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trod upon by men. You are the light of the world: a city that lies upon a mountain can not be hid: neither do men light a lamp and place it under the measure, but on the lamp-stand, and it gives light to all that are in the house. In this way let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood without, desiring to speak to him. And some one said to him: Behold, your mother and your brothers stand without, desiring to speak to you. And he looked round about on those who were sitting near him, and said: Behold, my mother and my brothers; for whoever will do the will of God, is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

For I think that God has appointed us the apostles, to the lowest place, as under sentence of death; for we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are honored, but we are despised. Be you, therefore, imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, as the Christ also loved us, and gave him self for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet odor. But lewdness, and all manner of uncleanness, or covetousness, let them not be named among you, as it becomes saints; read more.
nor obscene language, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not becoming; but rather the cheerful words of. a thankful heart. For you know this, that no lewd nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of the Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with vain words: for on account of these things, the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore, be not partakers with them. For you were formerly darkness; but now you are light in the Lord: walk as children of light;

But, brethren, you have no need that I write to you of - the times and seasons; for you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night: for when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them, as the pains of birth upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape. read more.
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light, and sons of day: we are not of night, nor of darkness.
