And whosoever heareth of me these sayings, and doeth them not the same, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And abundance of rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell: and great was the fall of it. And it came to pass, that when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

Why call ye me 'Master, Master': and do not as I bid you? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doth the same, I will show you to whom he is like. He is like a man which built a house: and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock. When the waters arose, the flood beat upon that house, and could not move it. For it was grounded upon a rock. read more.

because that all men should honour the son, even as they honour the father. He that honoureth not the son, the same honoureth not the father which hath sent him. Verily, verily I say unto you, He that heareth my words, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life: and shall not come into damnation, but is escaped from death unto life. Verily, verily I say unto you, the time shall come, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the son of God. And they that hear, shall live.
