And whosoever heareth of me these sayings, and doeth them not the same, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And abundance of rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell: and great was the fall of it. because thou sayest thou art rich and increased with goods, and hast need of nothing, and knowest not how thou art wretched and miserable, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich: and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, that thy filthy nakedness do not appear: and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see. because that all men should honour the son, even as they honour the father. He that honoureth not the son, the same honoureth not the father which hath sent him. Verily, verily I say unto you, He that heareth my words, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life: and shall not come into damnation, but is escaped from death unto life. Verily, verily I say unto you, the time shall come, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the son of God. And they that hear, shall live.
