And the standard of the camp of the sons of Dan set forward, the rear guard of all the camps throughout their army. And over his army was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. And it shall be, if you go with us, then it shall be, whatever goodness Jehovah shall do to us, the same will we do to you. And they moved three days' journey from the mountain of Jehovah. And the ark of the covenant of Jehovah went before them in the three days' journey, to look for a resting-place for them. And the cloud of Jehovah was upon them by day, when they pulled up stakes out of the camp. And it happened when the ark pulled up, Moses said, Rise up, Jehovah, and let Your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate You flee before You. And when it rested, he said, Return, O Jehovah, to the many thousands of Israel.

And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, Please let me go and return to my brothers who are in Egypt and see if they are still alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

And Moses kept the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back side of the desert. And he came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

And when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and lived in the land of Midian. And he sat down by a well. And the priest of Midian had seven daughters. And they came and drew, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock. And the shepherds came and drove them away. And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, Why have you hurried to come today? And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew for us and watered the flock. And he said to his daughters, And where is he? Why then have you left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread. And Moses was content to live with the man. And he gave Moses his daughter Zipporah. And she bore a son, and he called his name Gershom. For he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.

Hear, O, Israel! You are to pass over Jordan today, to go in to expel nations greater and mightier than you, cities great and fenced up to heaven, a people great and tall, the sons of the giants, whom you know and have heard it said, Who can stand before the sons of Anak! Therefore, understand today that Jehovah your God is He who goes over before you. Like a consuming fire, He shall destroy them, and He shall bring them down before your face. So you shall drive them out and destroy them quickly, as Jehovah has said to you.

By faith Moses, having been born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child. And they were not afraid of the king's commandments.
