And Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes and the birds of the heaven roosting-places, but the Son of man has not where he may lay his head.

Iron and brass shall be thy bolts; And thy rest as thy days.

Passing through the valley of Baca, they make it a well-spring; yea, the early rain covereth it with blessings.

By faith he sojourned as a stranger in the land of promise as a foreign country, having dwelt in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;

They shall inquire concerning Zion, with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to Jehovah, in an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten.

All these died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them from afar off and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and sojourners on the earth.

Then Peter answering said to him, Behold, we have left all things and have followed thee; what then shall happen to us?

but now they seek a better, that is, a heavenly; wherefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God; for he has prepared for them a city.

for he waited for the city which has foundations, of which God is the artificer and constructor.

And if ye invoke as Father him who, without regard of persons, judges according to the work of each, pass your time of sojourn in fear,

Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.

Send out thy light and thy truth: they shall lead me, they shall bring me to thy holy mount, and unto thy habitations.

for our commonwealth has its existence in the heavens, from which also we await the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour,

If therefore ye have been raised with the Christ, seek the things which are above, where the Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God: have your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth;

For this cause I say unto you, Do not be careful about your life, what ye should eat and what ye should drink; nor for your body what ye should put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than raiment?

And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away, and be at rest;

For we know that if our earthly tabernacle house be destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For indeed in this we groan, ardently desiring to have put on our house which is from heaven; if indeed being also clothed we shall not be found naked.read more.
For indeed we who are in the tabernacle groan, being burdened; while yet we do not wish to be unclothed, but clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now he that has wrought us for this very thing is God, who also has given to us the earnest of the Spirit. Therefore we are always confident, and know that while present in the body we are absent from the Lord, (for we walk by faith, not by sight;) we are confident, I say, and pleased rather to be absent from the body and present with the Lord.
