Then the king was much moved and went up to the chamber over the gate and wept; and as he went, he said this: O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! I would rather have died instead of thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!
Whosoever keeps the law is a wise son, but he that is a companion of gluttons shames his father.
The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself shall bring his mother to shame.
A wise son makes a glad father; but a foolish son is sadness unto his mother.
The foolish son is a grief to his father and bitterness to her that bore him.
A foolish son is a pain unto his father, and the contentions of a wife are a continual dripping.
He that steals from his father and chases away his mother is a son that causes shame and brings reproach.
He that begets a fool does it to his sorrow, and the father of a fool shall have no joy.

Sorrow » Who shall have sorrow
There are many sorrows for the wicked; but he that waits in the LORD, mercy shall compass him round about.
For who shall be the woe? for who shall be the woe? for who contention? for who quarrels? for who the wounds without cause? who shall have redness of eyes? For those that tarry long at the wine; those that go to seek mixed wine.
For the love of money is the root of all evil, which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
He that begets a fool does it to his sorrow, and the father of a fool shall have no joy.
The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of the wise that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary; he wakes up early, early shall he awaken my ear, that I might hear, as the wise. The Lord GOD has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. I gave my back to the smiters and my cheeks to those that plucked off the hair: I did not hide my face from shame and spitting. read more.
For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore, I was not ashamed; therefore, I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. He is near that justifies me; who will contend with me? let us stand together; who is my adversary? let him come near to me. Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? behold, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up. Who is among you that fears the LORD? Hearken unto the voice of his slave. He who walked in darkness and had no light; let him trust in the name of the LORD and stay upon his God. Behold, that all of you kindle fire and are compassed about with sparks; walk in the light of your fire and of the sparks that ye have kindled. From my hand has come this; ye shall be buried in sorrow.

But ye that forsake the LORD, that forget the mountain of my holiness, that prepare a table unto fortune, and that furnish the drink offering for destiny; I also will destine you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter because when I called, ye did not respond; I spoke, and ye did not hear, but did evil before my eyes and did choose that which displeased me. Therefore thus has the Lord GOD said, Behold, my slaves shall eat, but ye shall be hungry; behold, my slaves shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty; behold, my slaves shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: read more.
