Flattery » Danger of
With her much fair speech she caused him to yield; with the flattering of her lips she persuaded him. He went after her straightway, as an ox goes to the slaughter or as a fool to the correction of the stocks, until the arrow pierces through his liver. He is as a bird struggling in the snare and not knowing that it is against his own life.
Flattery » Those that flatter with the tongue
He that goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; therefore meddle not with him that flatters with his lips.
He that rebukes a man, afterwards shall find more favour than he that flatters with the tongue.
Net » Figurative
They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down; they have dug a pit before me, into the midst of which they are fallen themselves. Selah.
The wicked desires the net of evil men, but the root of the righteous shall yield fruit.
For man also does not know his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net and as the birds that are caught in the snare, so are the sons of men snared in the evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.
The fishermen also shall mourn, and all those that cast fishhooks into the river shall lament, and those that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.
and I find more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands are bonds; whosoever pleases God shall escape from her, but the sinner shall be held prisoner in her.

Snares » Who sets snares

The man that flatters his neighbour spreads a net for his feet. In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare, but the righteous shall sing and rejoice.
For among my people were found wicked men: they lay in wait as he that sets snares; they set a trap of perdition to catch men. As a cage full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit; thus they became great and rich. They are become fat; they shine; yea, they overpass in deeds of wickedness; they did not judge the cause, the cause of the fatherless; with all this they made themselves prosperous; and they did not judge the cause of the poor.
