But I wish you to know, that the head of every man is the Christ, and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Every man that prays or prophesies, having his head covered, dishonors his head. But every woman that prays or prophesies with her head uncovered, dishonors her head: for it is one and the same as if she was shaved. read more.
For if a woman has no vail on, let her also be shaved. But if it is a shame to a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her have a vail. For a man ought not to vail his head, because he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man: for the man was not created for the woman, but the woman for the man. For this reason ought the woman to have a token of subjection on her head, on account of the angels. But neither is the woman without the man, nor the: man without the woman, in the Lord. For as the woman is of the man, so also is the man by the woman; but all things are of God.
