The Lion who sprang from the tribe of Judah, who belongs to the line of David, has conquered, so that He can open the book and break its seven seals." Then I saw, midway between the throne and the four living creatures, standing among the elders, a Lamb that looked as though He had been slaughtered. He had seven horns and seven eyes; the latter are the seven spirits of God which are sent on duty to every portion of the earth.
Then one of the elders addressed me and said, "Who are these people clothed in white robes, and where did they come from?"

Then they sang a new song: "You deserve to take the book and break its seals, because you have been slaughtered, and with your blood have bought men from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation, and have made them a kingdom of priests for our God; and they will rule over the earth." Who will not fear and glorify your name, O Lord? For you alone are holy. All the nations will come and worship you, because the justice of your sentences has now been shown."
After this I heard something like the loud shout of a great multitude in heaven, saying: "Praise the Lord! Salvation, glory, and power belong to our God, because His judgments are true and just. Seals » The seven seals
And when the Lamb broke the first of the seven seals, I looked and heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, "Come!" Then I looked, and a white horse appeared, and his rider was carrying a bow. A crown was given to him, and he rode forth conquering and to conquer. When He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" read more.
And another horse came forth, as red as fire, and power was given to its rider to take peace away from the earth, and to make men slaughter one another; a great sword was given to him. When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature, say, "Come!" I looked, and a black horse appeared, and its rider was carrying a pair of scales in his hands, and I heard what seemed to be a voice from the midst of the four living creatures say: "Wheat, fifty cents a quart, barley, fifty cents for three quarts! But you must not injure the oil and wine." When He broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and a pale horse appeared, and its rider's name was Death, and Hades followed him. Power was given to them over one quarter of the earth, to kill the people with sword, famine, death, and the wild animals of the earth. When He broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered for being faithful to God's message and for the testimony they bore to it. Then in a loud voice they cried out, "Holy and true Master, how long will you refrain from charging and avenging our blood upon the inhabitants of the earth?" Then a white robe was given to each of them, and they were told to keep quiet a little while longer, until the number of their fellow-slaves and brothers, who were killed as they had been, was complete. When He broke the sixth seal, I looked, and there was a great earthquake, and the sun turned black as sackcloth, and the full moon became like blood, and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, just as a fig tree, when shaken by a violent wind, drops its unripe figs. The sky was swept away just like a scroll that is rolled up; and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. The kings of the earth, the great men, the military leaders, the rich, the mighty -- everybody, whether slaves or free hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. And they said to the mountains and the rocks: "Fall on us and conceal us from the sight of Him who is seated on the throne, and from the anger of the Lamb, because the great day of their anger has come, and who can stand it?"

When He broke the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. Then another angel with a censer of gold came and stood at the altar, and a great quantity of incense was given to him to mingle with the prayers of all God's people, on the altar of gold that stood before the throne. read more.
So the smoke of the incense went up from the angel's hand to the presence of God for the prayers of His people. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and flung it to the earth, and there followed peals of thunder with its rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake. And the seven angels with the seven trumpets prepared to blow them. The first one blew his trumpet, and there was a shower of hail and fire mixed with blood as it hurled itself upon the earth, and one-third of the earth was burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. Then the second angel blew his trumpet, and what seemed to be a great mountain, all ablaze with fire, hurled itself into the sea, and one-third of the sea was turned into blood, and one-third of all the living creatures in the sea perished, and one-third of the ships were destroyed. Then the third angel blew his trumpet, and there fell from the sky a great star blazing like a torch, and it fell upon one-third of the rivers and the springs of water. The star is called Absinthus, that is, Wormwood. So one-third of the waters turned to wormwood, and great numbers of people died of the waters, because they had turned bitter. Then the fourth angel blew his trumpet, and one-third of the sun was cursed with a plague, and one-third of the moon, and one-third of the stars, so that one-third of them were darkened, and there was no light for one-third of the day and for one-third of the night. Then I looked, and I heard an eagle flying in mid-air say in a loud voice, "Alas! Alas! Alas for the inhabitants of the earth because of the remaining blasts of the three angels who are going to blow their trumpets!"

Then the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky upon the earth. To this angel the key to the pit of the abyss was given, and he opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke like the smoke of a huge furnace puffed up out of the pit, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the pit. Out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, but the power that was given to them was like the power of earthly scorpions. read more.
They were told not to injure the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only the people who did not have the mark of God's seal on their foreheads. They were not permitted to kill them, but only to torture them for five months, and the torture they inflicted was like the torture of a scorpion when it stings a man. In those days people will look for death but will not find it, they will long to die but death will flee from them. The locusts look like horses armed for battle; on their heads were what appeared to be crowns of gold; their faces were like human faces; they had hair that looked like women's hair; their teeth were like lions' teeth; they had breastplates that seemed to be made of steel; the noise of their wings was like the noise of vast numbers of chariots and horses rushing into battle; they had tails like scorpions with stings in them, so in their tails their power lay to injure men for five months. They had over them as king the angel of the abyss; in Hebrew he is called Abaddon, in Greek, Apollyon. The first woe is past. See! Two other woes are yet to come. Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice from the corners of the altar of gold that was before God say to the sixth angel who had the trumpet: "Turn loose the four angels that are bound at the river Euphrates." Then the four angels that were kept in readiness for that hour and day and month and year were turned loose to kill one-third of mankind. The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard their number. In my vision the horses and the horsemen looked like this: Their breastplates were red, blue, and yellow; the horses' heads were like lions' heads, and fire, smoke, and sulphur kept pouring out of their mouths. One-third of mankind was killed by these three plagues: the fire, smoke, and sulphur that kept pouring out of their mouths. For the power of the horses lay in their mouths and their tails; their tails were like snakes, and they had heads with which they injured people. But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works their hands had done, so as to give up worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot either see or hear or move; and they never did repent of their murders, their practices in magic, their immorality, or their thefts.
