Behold, this third [time] I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden [to you]. For I am not seeking your possessions, but you. For children are not obligated to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.
This [is] the third [time] I am coming to you. {By the testimony} of two or three witnesses every word will be established.
But I will come to you whenever I go through Macedonia (for I am going through Macedonia), and perhaps I will stay with you, or even spend the winter, so that you may send me on my way wherever I may go. For I do not want to see you now in passing, for I hope to remain some time with you, if the Lord allows [it].

But thanks [be] to God, who has put in the heart of Titus the same devotion {on your behalf}, because he not only welcomed our request, but being very earnest, by his own choice he went out to you.
I urged Titus [to go], and I sent the brother [with him]. Titus did not take advantage of you, [did he]? Did we not conduct ourselves in the same spirit? Did we not walk in the same footsteps?
