These things I command you, that you may love one another. If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word which I spoke to you, The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you on my account, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. He that hates me, hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no other man has done, they would have had no sin; but now they have both seen, and hated both me and my Father. But this is so, that the word may be fulfilled which is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. But when the Paraclete has come, whom I will send to you from my Father, the Spirit of the truth, which proceeds from the Father, he will testify of me;

In like manner, also, the Spirit helps our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes for us, with groanings unutterable. And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, that he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good, to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

But, as it is written: Eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and into the heart of man have not entered the things which God has prepared for them that love him. But God has revealed them to us through his Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

These things have I spoken to you, that you may not be ensnared. They will put you out of the synagogues; in deed, the time is coming, when he that kills you, will think that he is offering service to God. And these things they will do, because they know neither the Father nor me. read more.
But these things I have told you, that, when the time has come, you may remember that I told you of them. But these things I did not tell you at the beginning, because I was with you. I have yet many things to say to you; but you can not bear them now. But when he, the Spirit of the truth, has come, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak of himself; but what he hears, that will he speak, and he will show you things to come. He will glorify me; for he will take of mine, and show it to you.

Now, confidence such as this we have, through the Christ, toward God; not that we are able, of ourselves, to devise any thing, as from ourselves; but our ability is from God, who has made us able ministers of the new covenant, not of letter, but. of spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit makes alive.
