He told them to teach the sons of Judah the song of the bow. It is written in the book of Jashar:
The Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh had forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty men ready for military service, able-bodied men who could handle shield and sword, who could use a bow, and who were trained for battle.
All of them were expert archers who could shoot arrows or sling stones with their left hand as well as their right. They were all relatives of Saul from the tribe of Benjamin.

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace and who bring good tidings of good things! For they proclaim salvation and say to Zion: Your God reigns as king! (Hebrew: Elohiym' malak': God rules!) Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices. Together they shout for joy. They will see it with their own eyes when Jehovah returns to Zion.
There will be those who escape in Mount Zion. It will be holy, and the house of Jacob will take (confiscate) their possessions. The house of Jacob will be a fire! The house of Joseph will be a flame! The house of Esau will be for stubble and they will burn among them, and devour them. There will be no survivors of the house of Esau: for Jehovah has spoken! I will restore your health and heal your wounds, proclaims Jehovah. People call you an outcast: 'Zion, no one cares for you.'
Let Israel find joy in their creator. Let the people of Zion rejoice over their king.
A voice of wailing is heard from Zion: How we are ruined! We are put to great shame for we have left the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.
