And I will harden Pharaoh's heart that he shall follow after them; and I will be glorified in Pharaoh and in all his host; and the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

And I will litigate against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him and upon his companies and upon the many peoples that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. And I will be magnified and sanctified, and I will be known in the eyes of many Gentiles, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

The Lord shall laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear comes upon you; when what you have feared comes as destruction, and your calamity comes as a whirlwind; when tribulation and anguish come upon you.

Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that same day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?

If wickedness was sweet in his mouth, if he hid it under his tongue, if it seemed good unto him, and he did not forsake it, but savored it within his mouth, his food shall be changed in his bowels, it shall be the gall of asps within him.read more.
He has swallowed down riches, but he shall vomit them up again; God shall cast them out of his belly. He shall suck the poison of asps; the viper's tongue shall slay him. He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter. He shall restore the work that was not his; according to the substance that he took; neither shall he devour, nor rejoice.

There are many sorrows for the wicked; but he that waits in the LORD, mercy shall compass him round about.

The wicked man travails with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden from the violent.

Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, and the harvest shall not come in.

How they are brought into desolation, as in a moment! They have come to an end; they are utterly consumed with terrors.

Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.

Therefore this sin shall be to you as an open wall ready to fall and as a breach in a high defence, whose breaking comes suddenly at an instant.

Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city; for in one hour is thy judgment come!

How often is the lamp of the wicked put out and their destruction comes upon them, and God distributes sorrows upon them in his anger.

The fools, because of the way of their rebellion, and because of their iniquities, were afflicted.

Why dost thou cry out for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the greatness of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.

But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded. So they shall make their own council and agreements to fall upon themselves; all that see them shall flee away. And all men shall fear and shall declare the work of God, for they shall understand his doing.

I have caused the Gentiles to be cut off: their castles are desolate; I made their streets waste until no one passes by; their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man left, there is no inhabitant. Saying, Surely now thou wilt fear me; thou wilt receive chastisement; so thy dwelling shall not be thrown down, all of which I visited upon her; but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.

But with many of them God was not pleased; therefore, they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things became types of us, that we should not lust after evil things as they lusted. I smote you with the east wind and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands, yet ye did not turn to me, said the LORD.

And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies and on those that hate thee, who persecuted thee.

God shall hear and bring them down, even he that abides from of old. Selah. Because they do not change, nor do they fear God.

For, behold, I raise my hand regarding them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants; and ye shall know that the LORD of the hosts has sent me.

They rejected my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore they shall eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own counsel.

In thy perverse filthiness thou shalt die because I have cleansed thee, and thou didst not cleanse thyself from thy uncleanness; thou shalt never cleanse thyself again, until I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.

But they refused to hearken and pulled away the shoulder and stopped their ears that they should not hear. O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? Thou hast stricken them, but they did not feel it; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive chastisement; they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

Tribulation and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.

Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled; cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird yourselves with sackcloth; lament and run to and fro by the hedges, for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.

Thou shall not be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked when it comes. For the LORD shall be thy confidence and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
