And out of the ground Jehovah God formed every animal of the field and every fowl of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.

O Jehovah, how many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your riches.

And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarmers having a living soul; and let birds fly over the earth on the face of the expanse of the heavens. And God created great sea-animals, and every living soul that creeps with which the waters swarmed after their kind; and every winged fowl after its kind. And God saw that it was good. The eyes of all wait on You; and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap, having neither storehouse nor barn, and God feeds them. How much more are you better than the birds?

You shall in every case let the mother go and take the young for yourself, so that it may be well with you, and you may make your days longer.

He sends the springs into the valleys; they flow between the hills. They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses break their thirst. By them the birds of the heavens will have their place of rest; they sing among the branches.

Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herb. But you shall not eat of flesh with the life in it, or the blood of it.

When Jehovah your God shall make your border larger, as He has promised you, and you shall say, I will eat flesh, because your soul longs to eat flesh; you may eat flesh, whatever your soul desires. If the place which Jehovah your God has chosen to put His name there is too far from you, then you shall kill of your herd and of your flock which Jehovah has given you, as I have commanded you, and you shall eat in your gates whatever your soul desires. Even as the gazelle and the hart is eaten, so you shall eat them. The unclean and the clean shall eat of them alike.read more.
Only be sure that you do not eat the blood. For the blood is the life. And you may not eat the life with the flesh. You shall not eat it. You shall pour it on the earth like water. You shall not eat it, so that it may go well with you and with your sons after you, when you shall do what is right in the sight of Jehovah.

You shall take with you every clean animal by sevens, the male and female. And take two of the animals that are not clean, the male and female. Also take of the fowls of the air by sevens, the male and the female, to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

to make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the creature that may be eaten and the creature that may not be eaten.

And Abel also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat of it. And Jehovah had respect to Abel and to his offering,

And Noah built an altar to Jehovah. And he took of every clean animal, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood. And I have given it to you on the altar to make an atonement for your souls. For it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul.

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood, and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Let praise be to Jehovah from the earth, the sea-monsters, and all deeps;

Let everything that breathes praise Jehovah. Praise Jehovah!
