But a certain one of those who stood by, having drawn his sword, struck the bondman of the high priest, and took off his ear.

And they who were around him, seeing what was going to follow, said to him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? And a certain one from among them smote the bondman of the high priest and took off his right ear. And Jesus answering said, Suffer thus far; and having touched his ear, he healed him.

Simon Peter therefore, having a sword, drew it, and smote the bondman of the high priest and cut off his right ear; and the bondman's name was Malchus. Jesus therefore said to Peter, Put the sword into the sheath; the cup which the Father has given me, shall I not drink it?

And he rose up and went away thence into the borders of Tyre and Sidon; and having entered into a house he would not have any one know it, and he could not be hid.

but he, passing through the midst of them, went his way,

as unknown, and well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as disciplined, and not put to death;

Women received their dead again by resurrection; and others were tortured, not having accepted deliverance, that they might get a better resurrection; and others underwent trial of mockings and scourgings, yea, and of bonds and imprisonment. And his eyes are a flame of fire, and upon his head many diadems, having a name written which no one knows but himself;

Now there were in Antioch, in the assembly which was there, prophets and teachers: Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, and Manaen, foster-brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

And God has set certain in the assembly: first, apostles; secondly, prophets; thirdly, teachers; then miraculous powers; then gifts of healings; helps; governments; kinds of tongues.

And let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.
