I ask not only on behalf of these men, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their message,

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us.

All these people died having faith. They did not receive the things that were promised, yet they saw them in the distant future and welcomed them, acknowledging that they were strangers and foreigners on earth. Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to everyone generously without a rebuke, and it will be given to him.
